I wanted to share this quick, easy and delicious raw recipe with you. I made it for my friends last night and it was a hit. (Sorry this photo sort of looks disgusting... I snapped it in a hurry.)
Mango avocado salad

2 ripe mangos
1 large avocado, peeled & pitted
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
The original recipe calls for lime juice, but I was making it at Linds' house, and she only had lemon. Orange juice would be delicious too, I'll bet. It also calls for cilantro leaves and black sesame seeds, neither of which we had. The toasted sesame seeds were our way of changing the flavor a bit, and automatically disqualified this dish as an authentic raw food snack. I think the way I made it gave it a more fruit salad-esque vibe, but the original recipe sounds divine, and I'd love to make it by the books sometime soon.
My friend Catherine suggested eating it with warm naan. If you haven't noticed yet, Indian food is my favorite ever, and her suggestion left my mouth watering. I'm imagining this delicious stuff with whole what naan or cherry and almond peshwari.
