Last time I posted, I was up in Tallahassee apartment hunting, unpacking, and swimming in our hotel pool with my mom and brother. Now I'm back in ol' Brevard and my life of unemployment has been really great. I've been working hard to take care of all the little details that come with heading back to grad school and taking care of all the "real life" stuff like bills, mail holds, and finding friends to crash with during what I like to call my "homeless phase."
Before I returned home, however, I was able to spend a long, relaxing day in Destin with Harbor and his family. I love those guys so much. We ate good food, took the sailboat and sea kayak out to Noriega Point on Friday, and Harbor and I spent lots of time together catching up from our time apart this summer. I got to hear funny tour stories, and share all of my adventures with him, too. It's been so good spending time together again. He's my best friend. Oh, and I also got to see his band play on their last tour. Only a few Florida shows left, and they'll be calling it quits.
And, I turned 25 this past Sunday! It was such a blast. I split my birthday party into two parts so I could make sure all my friends who wanted to join us could find a way to squeeze in a little celebration. We had lots of fun at the beach in the afternoon, then got together for homemade fish tacos, beer, and chips and dips later that evening. (Sidenote: If you've never played telephone pictionary, please look it up and play it immediately. It's the best party game in the world.)
Lots going on in the last week. What a great summer.
